Brendan Williams

Associate Director, Lead for Digital Consulting Research

Brendan is the lead analyst for digital consulting. He has over 15 years of experience in Consulting and IT Services in Europe and the US.

Prior to joining ALM Intelligence, Brendan worked for IBM, where he held positions within both the Global Business Services (GBS) and Global Technology Services (GTS) divisions. Most recently, he was responsible for designing and managing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) engagements in the EMEA region.

Brendan holds an MBA from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, an M.A. in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a B.A. summa cum laude from Dickinson College in International Studies and Italian Studies, with a minor in Music.

Andreas Stocker

Andreas Stocker

Analyst, Digital Consulting Research

Andreas is an analyst for the ALM Intelligence digital consulting service line.

Prior to joining ALM Intelligence, Andreas was a freelance translator and editor and has previously served in the role of paralegal at the law offices of Reed Smith in Pittsburgh, PA, Washington, D.C. and Frankfurt, Germany.

Andreas holds a Master of International Relations and International Economics degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and earned his B.A. in Political Science from West Virginia University.

Liz DeVito

Associate Director, Lead for HR Consulting Research

Liz is a career professional in marketplace and competitive intelligence for the consulting industry. She has over 20 years of experience leading global information and intelligence operations for business, strategy, and corporate development functions at premiere consulting firms, including Mercer, EY, and PwC Strategy& (formerly Booz & Company).

Since joining ALM Intelligence in 2012, Liz has researched and analyzed the provider landscape in a number of high-profile consulting markets, including those for change management and communications, employee benefits, employee experience, HR transformation and technology advisory, leadership development, and talent management. Liz earned an M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Michigan and an M.P.A. in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University. She holds a B.A. in music theory and history from Skidmore College, with a minor in English.



Tomek Jankowski

Senior Analyst, Lead for Financial Consulting Research

Tomek’s focus is on finance management consulting, which includes the finance function, balance sheet strategy, financial crisis management, and specialty finance.

Before joining ALM Intelligence, Tomek led the European asset-backed securities (ABS) and global collateralized debt obligation (CDO) report sourcing and research efforts for the asset-backed securities market intelligence firm Lewtan Technologies. Before that he spent five years with Capital Access International, a fixed-income market intelligence firm responsible for bringing the widely known fixed-income investment professional and securities profile tool eMAXX™ to the investment world. He was Director of North American data research when that firm was acquired by Lipper (a Reuters company) in 2002.

Tomek earned a B.A. in History magna cum laude, with a minor in Cultural Anthropology, from SUNY at Buffalo (New York). He also spent several years living and studying in Poland, Hungary, and other regions of Eastern Europe and has authored a successful book (published in late 2013) on Eastern Europe, which is going into its second edition in 2017.


Gabe Walle

Analyst, Financial Consulting Research

Gabe is an analyst for the ALM Intelligence financial consulting service line.

Prior to joining ALM Intelligence, Gabe was a Municipal Services Representative in the Government Banking division of RBS Citizens, N.A., where he assisted not-for-profit and municipal and state government banking customers. He also has experience working as an Actuarial Assistant for a retirement plan administration company and in the shareholder services area of a large mutual fund company.

Gabe has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire (UNH). He served four years of active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps prior to attending UNH.

Erin Hichman

Senior Analyst, Lead for IT Consulting Research

Erin Hichman is the lead analyst for ALM Intelligence's IT consulting research, covering the IT function; IT assets; technology and data markets. Her recent research includes competency reports on IT consulting buying and spending trends on IT strategy, analytics, data management, cloud and cybersecurity.

Erin was previously an Analyst with Technology Business Research, where she authored quarterly research reports on IT vendors that covered key trends, financials, go-to-market and resource management. In addition, she specialized in financial modeling, benchmarking, custom market analyses and research projects within the IT services industry. Erin also has experience with Deloitte, where she was an IT Consultant focusing on IT process improvement and business analysis projects to increase efficiency and decrease cost for clients across diverse industries, including consumer products, retail, and power & utilities.

Erin earned an M.S. in Industrial Engineering, with a concentration in Integrated Technology Management from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a minor in German from the same university.



Naima Hoque Essing

Senior Analyst, Lead for Risk Consulting Research

Naima is leading the launch of the Risk Consulting Research domain at ALM Intelligence, after previously contributing to its strategy & operations consulting research effort. Her previous career was in the investment management industry, with over twenty years of experience as a fundamental equity research analyst for two large mutual fund companies and an Asian-focused hedge fund, specializing in global telecommunications, media and technology stocks.

Naima started her career as a financial consultant within a Big Four firm in New York City. Naima earned an M.S. in Finance from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Strategy & Operations


Nathan Simon

Senior Director, Lead for Strategy & Operations Consulting Research

Nathan is the lead analyst for ALM Intelligence's strategy and operations management consulting service lines. He has over 10 years of experience in internal and external consulting roles, and most recently managed an independent consulting practice geared toward aligning clients' strategies and organizational structures and processes. As part of this venture, Nathan partnered with a Harvard Business School professor on research designed to measure the performance of organizations' internal coordination systems. Prior to launching his own consulting practice, Nathan was responsible for global strategy and business development for a business unit at a multinational financial services company. In this role, he led strategic and operational initiatives that spanned multiple geographies and functional areas, including launching new businesses in East Asia and Eastern Europe. Nathan holds an M.A. in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.



Laura Becker

Industry Consulting Analyst

Laura’s focus is on consulting in the healthcare and life sciences marketplaces. She has a strong background in research, writing, market research, product development and marketing across various industries, including software and publishing. In a prior role, Laura was a principal owner of an electronic and print publishing company for the public library, academic and K12 school marketplaces, in which she handled all aspects of product development and business management. She has also worked for Christie’s auction house in New York on the strategy and business planning team, and was a strategy consultant with PwC. Laura graduated from Duke University with a degree in public policy (cum laude) and attended the Stern School of Business at NYU.

Matthew Merker

Senior Analyst, Industry Consulting Research

Matthew works on key HR Benefits research. Previously, he has worked as an Associate and Senior Consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, providing management consulting services for public sector clients, including the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and others. Matthew was responsible for providing strategy and organizational support to public sector clients, including long-term forecasting and change management. He also provided manpower assessment support to Army clients, streamlining human capital and financial facets of key organizations. Matthew received an M.A. in Security Policy Studies from George Washington University. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and History from Susquehanna University.

Fiona Myers

Senior Analyst, Management Consulting Research

Fiona's focus at ALM Intelligence is management consulting research, supporting multiple ongoing research projects, as well as performing market research and analysis in support of our in-depth coverage of management consulting service providers and the consulting marketplace. Prior to joining ALM Intelligence, Fiona spent several years doing conflict of interest research for Ernst & Young (EY), and before that was the Information Center Manager at Mercer Management Consulting. Fiona earned a B.A. in Political Science from Wellesley College, with a minor in Fine Arts.
